I've known Hannah since she was a little girl so you can imagine how thrilled I was to be asked to do her wedding flowers. We met up briefly to go through a few ideas back in March but got together more formally along with Ione and Carl to discuss their ideas and requirements.
Hannah and Carl's wedding had a wonderful relaxed vibe, ceremony in the beautiful Gt Hallingbury church and the reception to follow in a tipi in Hannah's parents garden, what could be nicer!?
Hannah loved large headed 'showy' garden blooms to be used in her bouquet and the table centres , she particularly loved peonies and dahlias both of which were on the edge of their season but we assured her we would do our best to source them for her. We were thrilled that we were able to do this, although it was a little touch and go at times!
Hannah had 6 gorgeous bridesmaids who wore various soft pastel coloured dresses and to complete this dreamy look Ione and I made circlets of gypsophila and bouquets containing some exquisite Perfumed David Austin roses combined with gyp.
Hannah had the great idea of tying little milk bottles to the pew ends in the church which we filled with pale pink hydrangea, peonies and roses combined with sprigs of Rosemary for scent. We tied these with trails of soft white satin ribbon, they looked a picture!
For the tables Hannah chose very pretty vintage silver vases. We filled these with summery lovelies including mixed locally grown Dahlias, pale pink Hydrangea, Astilbie ,Veronica, Peonies, spray Roses and Gypsophlia. Every one a little different to the others, ensuring an eclectic look.
It was a privilege to be chosen to do Hannah and Carl's wedding flowers and you can imagine our delight when we received this email from Carl and Hannah 2 days later -
'Hello, Just a super quick note to say a massive thank you from Carl and I. The flowers were absolutely beautiful. They truly took my breath away. I promise to send a proper thank you and photos when we're back from honeymoon-just on our way to the airport now.
Lots of love
The new Mr and Mrs Steward 😊 xxx'
This is why we love our job so much! It brings challenges as well as early starts and sleepless nights, but we wouldn't swap it for the world. Thank you to both Hannah & Carl and we wish them the very best together. Fiona & Ione x
Finally a few bonus photos because the wedding was just that gorgeous!
